In the 16th century, the Ming Dynasty often sent their beautiful porcelain wares to European enthusiasts and collectors. This bowl is good example of those exports and is in a popular style known as FUYO, which has a Fuyo flower with a circle in the center and partitions along the rim. Unlike the Fuyo-style plates or flat bowls, which are relatively common, Fuyo bowls are quite rare, making this piece highly valuable.
