The Shusui Museum of Art General Incorporated Foundation collects and exhibits works with a focus on pictures and craft products from Japan’s medieval to modern periods. To share the deep spirituality and distinctive appeal of Japanese fine art, the museum selects and exhibits particularly exquisite works from among its collection.
This marks the first exhibition since its complete restoration of Prince Shotoku, a masterpiece by Chikuha Otake, who initially worked on images for medicine advertisements and later became a celebrated artist. The exhibition also features a variety of other works, including nihonga Japanese-style paintings and craft products created by leading artists of the modern Japanese art scene. We hope many people will come enjoy the fascinating world of Japanese fine art.
