The Mori Shusui Museum of Art believes in the preservation and handing down from generation to generation of swords, castles, and other aspects of samurai culture; to this end, we took part in fundraising as a show of our strong support for Sakura Paxx Corp.’s Project to Support the Reconstruction of Kumamoto Castle.
The Mori Shusui Museum of Art has a special and precious connection to Kumamoto: our very first exhibition featured works of art by Morihiro Hosokawa, as well as other items passed down from generation to generation by the Hosokawa clan, who were once the daimyo lords of the Kumamoto Domain.
Museum visitors enjoyed the unique cardboard model of Kumamoto Castle provided by Sakura Paxx Corp., as well as the Kumamon display panel. We believe that the money donated by visitors, through sales of cardboard castle kits, serves as a symbol of their thoughts and consideration toward the ongoing reconstruction efforts at Kumamoto Castle.
